Wow!
All finished with DS106. What a fun-filled semester it has been. This is a perfect segway to attach a video for prospective students taking DS106 in the Spring.
HERE is the Final Assignment!
I started the week by making sure all of my assignments/summaries were in correct categories. I used a widget to have my categories appear beneath my search bar on the right hand side column. I think that is a great tool to have for quick finding of materials.
This class has allowed me to really connect with myself and produce work that reflects what I believe in. The best part of the semester was the introduction of videoassignments. I learned more this week and i have found myself creating videos for the fun of it. I learned how to interpret movies/audio and motion pictures. After completing the course, my views of Digital Storytelling have changed.
One of my assignment ideas was to put your favorite song into audacity and put some effects to it to make it your own..
I chose this as my favorite jazz performer, who I have seen live. I took this song and I did several amplifications. I added a remixed slow ending and I also did a “wah-Wah” effect in the middle with the saxophone portion. I enjoyed this and think this is a perfect example of this assignment.
It is nice to be able to have your work saved, so you can look back on the work that you have published. I look back and like to see how I have improved. I think that as the semester went on I liked the work more, and more. I thought that I became craftier and more intelligent with these types of production.
I created a category for the work that I thought I did the best on, called, My Best Work. This can also be viewed on the right side column page, under categories.
I think that assignments we tend to do best on are the ones we enjoy doing. As I have previously said, my favorite part of this semester with the video and audio creations. That is why i think those qualify to be the best work this semester. I included my post, Safari as my favorite work, though it had nothing to do with video or audio, I enjoyed finding pictures and matching them up with the titles. I thought I did a great job of describing each photo and what it resembled.
